Last week, hip-hop heads around the world celebrated the 10th anniversary of The Black Album which was heralded as Jay Z‘s retirement album in 2003. Probably the most infamous song of The Black Album happens to “PSA”, an interlude that happen to be crafted last-minute while the album was in the mixing stages. In the above video, Just Blaze (who I refer to as the most underrated producer in hip-hop) discusses the story about how “PSA” came into fruition. Apparently Jay made the song while in midst of doing press for the album as he would record the song four bars at a time. The outcome was a song that is a large staple in Jay Z’s illustrious catalogue.
