Trap Lord: A$AP Ferg Decodes “Hood Pope”

Life + Times sat down with the Young Fergenstein recently to discuss the backing story behind the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony influenced track “Hood Pope” track off his debut album Trap Lord which dropped August 20th. According to Ferg, “Hood Pope” tells the harsh stories of growing up in the “rough and tough” neighborhoods of Harlem where drugs and violence are rampant. Ferg also confesses that he channeled gospel singers Donnie McClurkin and Kirk Franklin in the studio when bringing the song into fruition. “Hood Pope” was produced by Virginian production trio VERY RVRE.
