The recently deceased Hugo Chavez will have his body displayed forever for the Venezuelan public to see. Chavez’ body will be preserved and showcased at a military museum (Museum of Revolution) in Caracas so the Venezuelan people can view his body for as long as they please. This process of preservation is similar to the embalm treatment that was given to supreme rulers Ho Chi Minh and Vladimir Lenin when they passed. Chavez ruled Venezuela for fourteen years and controlled the country with a socialist government, that many citizens and government officials became very loyal to. Chavez’ funeral will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday as Cuban President Raul Castro and Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad are to attend the funeral services. Details of Chavez’ death are still murky but Venezuelan Gen. Jose Ornella, told the AP late Wednesday that Chavez died of a massive heart attack after battling cancer for two years.
