The bad news keeps compounding for Manny Pacquiao, after being knocked out in his bout against Juan Manuel Márquez in December, reports have recently surfaced that he might have an early onset of Parkinson’s Disease. As reported by Philippines news site ABS-CBN, Dr. Rustico Jimenez has suggested that Pacquiao retire from boxing after early observations of the disease. Jiminez stated:
Even though his reflexes are quick, I noticed the movement – it’s just another view, my personal view – but it seems like there are early signs. It’s in the hands, and not the head, where you can easily see this. It twitches a little bit. Although I haven’t seen it up close, I think I am seeing that there are some signs.
I guess the public may never see a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight but it would be understandable because Parkinson’s is a vicious disease. I wish the best for Pac Man and his family.
