Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather may be stepping into the ring again in May 2013 to face Roberto Guerrero. Boxing site Boxing Scene reported on Friday that a deal for Mayweather to fight Guerrero is soon to be finished as the fight will be scheduled for May 4th in Las Vegas. Mayweather will have to fight at 147 pounds, which is four pounds down from the weight he fought Miguel Cotto at in May. The only thing missing to make the fight official is a formal announcement, which should come some time after the holidays, according to ESPN’s Dan Rafael. Guerrero (31-1-1) is coming off a November win over Andre Berto and has been anxious to fight arguably the world’s best “pound-for-pound” fighter. This is the closest we will get to seeing Mayweather fight a skillful fighter since Manny Pacquaio has faded into obscurity. Sounds good!
